Scheduling Rides

C.A.R.R. schedules rides from 8:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday.  Each origin and return trip will be recorded separately, and each direction shall be recorded as a one-way trip.  The trip shall be scheduled to show the expected arrival time that the customer needs to be at their destination or appointment.

Advance Scheduling
A request for demand service should be made at least one business day prior to the day of the desired trip.  Rides may be scheduled up to 60 days in advance.  In order to schedule a trip, one must speak with a scheduler/dispatcher who may require the following in scheduling a trip.

  • Passenger Name

  • Address

  • Phone Number

  • Destination Name

  • Destination Address

  • Expectant Arrival Time

Same-Day Scheduling
Request for same-day service will be accepted from 8:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.  The following criteria will be utilized in determining same day scheduling:

The vehicle must have seating/wheelchair space available.  The vehicle must also be in the near vicinity/location of the origin and destination in order to accommodate the request without disrupting the passengers already scheduled. 

The scheduler may refuse the request for same day service if it cannot be worked into the existing schedule or it otherwise causes operational problems for C.A.R.R.  Dispatcher shall contact driver or supervisor and if they do not feel that their schedule can allow for the same day the trip will not be scheduled.

When accepting the scheduled ride, the passenger should be aware that there may be considerable waiting time for a return vehicle during peak periods and the possibility that C.A.R.R. will not be able to accommodate both the origin and the return trip.
